Syngenta launches free online weed identification guide for turf professionals

The online weed identification guide supports accurate weed identification and agronomic recommendations for turf pros.

Syngenta offers a new digital weed identification guide, a free online resource designed to help turf professionals accurately identify weeds and make informed management decisions.

“Proper identification is essential for effective weed management,” said Matt Giese, technical services manager for turf in the Midwest at Syngenta. “Without it, it’s difficult to select the right approach for control. Our goal with this guide is to simplify identification and provide treatment recommendations to help turf managers confidently take the next steps for control.”

Created by the Syngenta turf technical services team with contributions from researchers across the country, this easy-to-use guide provides clear visuals and outlines key identification characteristics. With tips to help distinguish between similar weed species, this guide is a practical resource for golf course superintendents, lawn care operators, sports field managers and sod producers. Additionally, it includes guidance for controlling each weed and insights for developing weed management strategies.

“We are excited to launch this weed identification guide as a free resource for turfgrass management professionals,” said Stephanie Schwenke, turf market manager for Syngenta. “This guide reflects significant collaboration and industry expertise, and we hope users find it to be a valuable tool that helps them be more efficient and successful with their weed management strategies.”

The new guide can be saved directly to your smartphone or tablet homescreen to easily access this tool in the field.
