MLB and Scotts announce partnership to renovate U.S. baseball fields
Over the next three years ballparks around the country will receive renovations thanks to Major League Baseball and The Scotts Co.
MLB announced Tuesday, according to the Associated Press,Ā that it will work with The Scotts Co. to findĀ fieldsĀ that require renovations. Upgrades to these fields will include the planting of new turf, replacingĀ fencesĀ and the addition of scoreboards and dugouts.
Individual MLBĀ teams also will take partĀ in choosing which local fields receive makeovers.
This announcement is a part of theĀ Play Ball initiative introduced by Commissioner Rob Manfred and USA Baseball last year, designed to attract more young people to baseball and softball while giving them additional opportunities to play.
